Vercel shows one monthly price per plan, with no separate intro or renewal price. Hobby is free for personal, non-commercial use, Pro is $20/mo per team with $20 of monthly usage credit and one deploying seat, and Enterprise is priced on request. Extra deploying seats are $20/mo each, viewer seats are free, and usage beyond the credit is billed on demand at rates listed per resource. Pro is billed monthly only, and new teams get a spend alert at $200 by default. Prices are in US dollars and exclude VAT and other taxes, which are added based on your billing address.
Web hosting review
Vercel
Vercel is a platform for static sites, Next.js and other frameworks, with serverless functions billed by usage. Its site clearly explains plan prices, plan limits, how long deployments are kept, the legal entity behind it and its public status page. Support response times for Hobby and Pro, malware scanning, where build output is stored and how to export everything were harder to pin down from the website alone.

Price over time
No intro price, so nothing jumps at renewal
Vercel shows one monthly price per plan, with no intro discount and no renewal price. Pro costs $20 a month with one deploying seat, and each extra deploying seat is $20 a month; seat prices come from the Pro plan docs. Usage beyond the $20 monthly credit is billed on top. Monthly prices in US dollars, without VAT or other taxes, from vercel.com/pricing on 21 Oct 2026. Pro is billed monthly only.

What we found
Each finding links to the Vercel page it came from. Prices are the US-dollar prices on vercel.com, without VAT or other taxes.
The terms of service say you sign with Vercel Inc., under California law. The data processing addendum names Vercel Inc. as a Delaware corporation with registration number 5857312, at 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, California. The privacy policy gives the same Covina address. The billing FAQ says Vercel is a US-based entity without a VAT ID. A blog post says the company started in 2016, under the name ZEIT.
A public status page tracks about 65 components, many of them per region, with a 90-day uptime bar. It lists recent incidents with their status, such as increased build and deployment failures on 12 Oct 2026 and Vercel Auth login failures on 6 Oct, all marked resolved. It links to an incident history page, though its entries didn't load for us. The pricing page lists a 99.99% SLA for Enterprise only, and the terms don't promise uninterrupted service.
Every plan can use the community forum. Pro includes email support through support tickets, while Hobby can open tickets only for billing and login problems. The support terms give business hours of 8:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday, for time zones from UTC+0 to UTC-8. Response targets are listed only for Enterprise, from under 4 business hours for the most urgent issues on Standard support to under 2 hours, 24/7, on Premium. A support guide says Hobby and Pro aren't covered by a support plan or SLA and tickets are handled in the order received, so we didn't see response times for those plans.
The terms say fees are non-refundable unless the agreement or the law says otherwise, so we didn't see a money-back period. Hobby and self-service plans renew automatically for the same term. You can downgrade Pro to Hobby or close the account in your settings, and this takes effect at the start of the next renewal period. Consumers with a legal withdrawal right can still use it, with the refund reduced by the service already used, and fee changes apply from the next payment period after written notice. The Pro trial lasts 14 days and doesn't charge you unless you add a payment method.
Each deployment is kept as a full copy of the built site. By default Hobby keeps deployments for 30 days, and Pro keeps production deployments for 1 year and previews for 180 days, and the live deployment is never deleted automatically. Deleted deployments can be restored from project settings for 30 days. Pro can roll back instantly to any earlier production deployment, Hobby only to the previous one, and kept deployments count toward Deployment Storage at $0.10 per GB-month on Pro. Vercel's own backups, every two hours and kept 30 days, aren't available to customers, and we didn't see a way to download a deployment or back up Vercel Blob files.
Every deployment is served over HTTPS with free certificates from Let's Encrypt, renewed automatically, and HTTP redirects to HTTPS. Two-factor login works with an authenticator app or a passkey, with recovery codes, and teams can require it. Automatic DDoS mitigation runs on all plans, and the web application firewall allows 3 custom rules on Hobby and 40 on Pro. The security page lists ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2, plus static analysis and dependency scanning of Vercel's own code. We didn't see malware scanning for customer sites on the pages we read.
The docs list 19 compute regions, including Frankfurt, Dublin, London, Paris and Stockholm. Functions run in Washington, D.C. by default; you can choose one region on Hobby, up to 5 on Pro, and Blob stores can be placed in any of the 19 regions. The data processing addendum says Vercel's main processing is in the United States, and the security page says no data is stored permanently in EU regions, so we couldn't tell where build output is kept. The addendum covers the GDPR and uses EU standard contractual clauses, and Vercel is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The addendum is stated to apply to Pro and Enterprise customers.
The limits docs give numbers per plan. Functions get 2 GB of memory and 1 vCPU, up to 4 GB and 2 vCPUs on Pro, with a 300-second limit that Pro can raise to 800 seconds. Builds get 2 vCPUs and 8 GB on Hobby, and 4 vCPUs and 8 GB on Pro, up to 30 vCPUs and 60 GB, with a 45-minute limit. Hobby includes 100 GB of data transfer and 1 million function invocations a month, and pauses when they run out. "Unlimited" is used for Pro projects and viewer seats without a number; domains per project are unlimited with a stated soft limit of 100,000.
Domains registered through Vercel can be moved out from the dashboard: you start the transfer and get the authorization code yourself, once the domain is more than 60 days old. Vercel says it charges no fee to release a domain, though the new registrar may charge for a year's renewal. The data processing addendum says you can export your data at any time, but we didn't see an export tool or a way to download a deployment. The terms say your content may be deleted permanently when the account ends, and ask you to keep your own backups.
What you get per plan
Function and build limits come from the limits docs and the Hobby plan comparison. "Pro, largest option" shows the highest settings Pro can choose, some of which cost more. Bars compare each row against the largest plan.
| Limit | Hobby | Pro, default | Pro, largest option |
|---|---|---|---|
| Function memory and CPU | 2 GB, 1 vCPU | 2 GB, 1 vCPU | 4 GB, 2 vCPUs |
| Function time limit | 300 s | 300 s | 800 s (1,800 s in beta) |
| Build CPUs | 2 vCPUs | 4 vCPUs | 30 vCPUs |
| Build memory | 8 GB | 8 GB | 60 GB |
| Deployments per day | 100 | 6,000 | 6,000 |
| Function regions | 1 | 5 | 5 |
| Production deployments kept | 30 days | 1 year | 1 year (you can change it) |
Tech stack
Best for static sites and JavaScript frameworks
Hosts are built for different kinds of sites. Here is what Vercel says it runs, and on which plans. Tech fit is separate from the signal score.
Static sites
Best fitThe framework list includes static site generators such as Hugo, Jekyll, Eleventy, Astro, Gatsby, Docusaurus and Zola. Every plan includes Git deploys, preview deployments, the global CDN with 126 points of presence and free HTTPS.
Plans: All plans, from Hobby (non-commercial)Node.js & JavaScript frameworks
Best fitThe docs show Next.js, SvelteKit, Nuxt, Astro, Remix and TanStack Start with server rendering, plus Express, Fastify, Hono and NestJS. Functions on the Node.js runtime can use all Node.js APIs, and a Bun runtime is also offered.
Plans: All plans, from Hobby (non-commercial)Python
SupportedAn official Python runtime runs FastAPI, Flask, Django and other ASGI or WSGI apps as functions. Python 3.12 is the default, with 3.13 and 3.14 available, and bundles can be up to 500 MB.
Plans: All plans, from Hobby (non-commercial)Docker containers
SupportedThe Container runtime, in beta on all plans, runs an OCI image built from a Dockerfile.vercel file as a function. Containers scale down after 5 minutes without traffic in production, and Static IPs and Secure Compute don't work with them yet.
Plans: All plans, in betaGo, Ruby & Rust
SupportedOfficial runtimes also cover Go, Ruby, Rust and WebAssembly functions, each handling HTTP requests as a Vercel Function.
Plans: All plans, from Hobby (non-commercial)WordPress & PHP
Not offeredWe didn't see WordPress hosting or an official PHP runtime on the pages we read. PHP appears only as a community runtime, vercel-php, that Vercel recommends but doesn't maintain itself.
Plans: Not offeredSales practices
Worth a closer look
We check five common sales practices and note them next to the score, without changing it. Two need a pass through checkout, which this scan didn't do. We'll add them on the next recheck.
- Noticed"Unlimited" without a stated limit. The limits docs list projects on Pro as "Unlimited" without a number, and viewer seats are unlimited too. Domains per project are unlimited with a stated soft limit of 100,000, and bandwidth and compute are metered.
- Not checked yetAdd-ons ticked for you at checkout. This scan didn't go through checkout. The docs say paid add-ons are bought from Billing settings, and a mistaken add-on purchase can be raised with support.
- Not checked yetPrices that change at the payment step. Listed prices exclude VAT and other taxes, which are added based on your billing address. We didn't check the final checkout total.
- Not noticedCountdown timers that reset. No timers or sale banners on the pages we read.
- Not noticedReviews with no source. The homepage shows usage figures credited to named companies such as Notion, Zapier and Mintlify. The security page shows customer logos only, and we didn't see customer quotes on the pricing page.
Questions to ask Vercel
Each partly clear or unseen signal leaves a question that the website didn't answer for us. Vercel's support can probably answer them before you buy.
- Reachable supportWhat response times do you aim for on Pro support tickets, and what does priority support cost?
- BackupsCan I download a deployment's files, or back up and restore a Vercel Blob store?
- Security basicsDo you scan deployed sites, functions or uploaded files for malware?
- Data locationWhere are build output and account data stored, and can EU customers keep them in the EU?
- Easy exitHow do I export all my project data and Blob files before closing an account?
