Every web hosting plan card shows the renewal price under the intro price. Pro is €1.99/mo for the first 12 months (€23.88 ex. VAT) and renews at €9.99/mo. Prices are marked "ex. VAT", and the page says VAT depends on your country of residence. The cards show a 12-month total, but we didn't see in words whether shorter terms are offered. VPS plans show a single "from" monthly price, also without VAT.
Web hosting review
OVHcloud
OVHcloud shows renewal prices on every web hosting plan card, names the company you sign with, and publishes status pages with incident history and a list of datacentre locations. A few things were harder to pin down: support response times, the limits behind "unlimited" traffic, and what you get back if you cancel early, where the FAQ and the general terms read differently. Web hosting intro prices cover the first 12 months.

Price over time
Renewal prices are 1.6 to 5 times the intro price
This is common in hosting, and OVHcloud shows both prices on its plan cards. Intro prices are shown with a 12-month total, so they cover the first year. Monthly prices in euros, without VAT, from ovhcloud.com/en-ie/web-hosting (the Ireland site) on 19 Oct 2026. The ovhcloud.com/en/ page showed US-dollar prices and didn't say whether tax was included.
Assumes the listed €2.59/mo renewal price for 12 months. Actual renewal prices and terms may change.

What we found
Each finding links to the OVHcloud page it came from. Prices are the euro prices on ovhcloud.com/en-ie, without VAT.
The legal notice names OVH Hosting Limited, company number 468585, VAT number 9520632R, at Enterprise House, O'Brien Road, Carlow, Ireland. The general terms name the same company and number with a Dublin address, 38/39 Fitzwilliam Square West. The parent company, OVH Groupe SA, is listed with the Lille registry under number 537 407 926, at 2 rue Kellermann, Roubaix. The About page says OVHcloud is a French company founded in 1999.
Public status pages cover Web Cloud (web hosting clusters, databases, SSL, domains and email) and Public Cloud, split by region. Both list recent incidents with start and end times, show 90 days of uptime per component and link to a full history. On the day we looked, the Web Cloud page showed a partial outage on domain operations and some email services. VPS plans list a 99.9% SLA. The web hosting page says "99.9% observed availability", and the web hosting terms don't set an uptime percentage.
Customer service is reachable by phone on +353 1 691 72 83, Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. Technical requests go through the help centre. The support page says incidents are handled by phone, ticket and live chat 24/7, in English outside working hours, with a goal of a first response "within 15 minutes to 8 business hours". We didn't see which support level gets which response time, and the general terms say there is no guaranteed intervention time.
Consumers can cancel within 14 days of ordering, through the Control Panel or by registered letter, except for services already fully performed. Auto-renewal is on by default for some services, and you turn it off in the Control Panel. The web hosting FAQ says that if you delete a plan before it expires, the unused period is refunded pro rata on request. The general terms say no refund is made for non-use or partial use, so the two pages read differently. We didn't see a money-back guarantee for business customers.
All web hosting plans include automatic backups. From the Control Panel you can restore files to the same day, one or two days ago, last Sunday, or the Sunday two weeks ago, and you can browse backups over FTP to download files. Database backups can be downloaded from the Control Panel, and the technical guide says they are kept for 30 days. OVHcloud calls these backups "non-contractual", and we didn't see whether a restore costs anything. VPS plans include one daily backup, and a paid option from €1.10 ex. VAT/mo keeps 7 days.
Every web hosting plan lists unlimited free SSL, anti-DDoS protection and "anti-virus and anti-spam". Your account supports two-factor login by SMS, an authenticator app or a U2F security key, with backup codes. We didn't see what the anti-virus covers, or any malware scanning of website files, on the pages we read.
The datacentre page names 15 regions in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific. The data processing agreement says you choose the location when you order, if several are offered, and that OVHcloud won't move it without your approval. The agreement is made under article 28 of the GDPR, is part of the contract, and includes EU standard contractual clauses for transfers outside the EEA. The web hosting page doesn't name a location, while the technical guide names Gravelines, France and Beauharnois, Canada.
Web hosting cards list storage, websites, mailboxes and databases per plan. CPU and RAM are listed from Startup up: Pro has 1 vCore and 2 GB RAM, while Starter and Personal show none. Traffic is "unlimited" on every plan and Agency plans list "unlimited websites", without a stated limit on the plan pages. The web hosting terms say OVHcloud can limit hosting that harms other customers. VPS plans list vCores, RAM, NVMe storage and bandwidth as numbers, with monthly traffic quotas stated for Asia-Pacific.
An export guide explains how to download your site files over FTP, SFTP or SSH and export databases from the Control Panel or phpMyAdmin, in standard formats. To move a domain away, you turn off transfer protection and copy the AUTH/INFO code from the Control Panel, once the domain is at least 60 days old. We didn't see an OVHcloud fee for moving a domain away. The web hosting terms say data is deleted within 45 days after the plan expires, so export first.

Tech stack
Best for WordPress and PHP sites
Hosts are built for different kinds of sites. Here is what OVHcloud says it runs, and on which plans. Tech fit is separate from the signal score.
WordPress
Best fitEvery web hosting plan has a free 1-click WordPress install that creates the database for you. OVHcloud recommends the Pro plan for WordPress sites. A "Managed Hosting for WordPress" offer is listed as a Labs page, without details or prices.
Plans: All web hosting plansPHP
Best fitThe recommended Stable64 environment offers PHP 7.4 to 8.5, set from the Control Panel or a .ovhconfig file. SSH and multi-FTP come with Pro and up. Starter, Personal and Startup get one Git repository.
Plans: All web hosting plans, SSH from ProPython (Django, Flask)
VPS plansThe web hosting runtime table lists Python 2.7 and 3.7 only. We didn't see a guide for running Django or Flask apps on web hosting. On a VPS or Public Cloud instance you install your own system and versions.
Plans: VPS, from VPS-1Node.js
VPS plansWe didn't see Node.js on the web hosting pages we read. VPS plans let you pick a Linux, Windows or BSD system and manage it yourself.
Plans: VPS, from VPS-1Docker & Kubernetes
VPS plansPublic Cloud offers Managed Kubernetes, a Managed Private Registry and Managed Rancher, billed by use. The VPS page mentions Docker only to say it isn't available in Local Zones. The smallest VPS has 2 vCores, 4 GB RAM and 40 GB NVMe for €3.81 ex. VAT/mo.
Plans: VPS and Public CloudSales practices
Worth a closer look
We check five common sales practices and note them next to the score, without changing it. Two need a pass through checkout, which this scan didn't do. We'll add them on the next recheck.
- Noticed"Unlimited" without a stated limit. Traffic is listed as unlimited on every web hosting plan, and Agency plans list unlimited websites, with no limit on the plan pages. The web hosting terms say OVHcloud can limit hosting that harms other customers.
- Not checked yetAdd-ons ticked for you at checkout. This scan didn't go through checkout.
- Not checked yetPrices that change at the payment step. Listed prices exclude VAT, which depends on your country. We didn't check the final checkout total.
- Not noticedCountdown timers that reset. No timers on the pages we read. A dedicated server offer on the homepage had a fixed end date of 28 October 2026.
- Not noticedReviews with no source. The one testimonial on the web hosting page carries a first name, job title and company. Customer logos on the homepage are shown without quotes.
Questions to ask OVHcloud

This report covers what OVHcloud publishes, as read by an AI. It can miss things or misread a page. We didn't host a test site, so it says nothing about real speed or how helpful support feels.
