Netlify shows one monthly price per plan, with no separate intro or renewal price. Free is $0 with 300 credits a month, Personal is $9/mo with 1,000 credits, and Pro starts at $20/mo with 3,000 credits and unlimited members, up to $126/mo for 20,000 credits. Usage is paid in credits, for example 15 credits per production deploy and 20 per GB of bandwidth. Extra credits come through auto recharge, 500 for $5 on Personal and 1,500 for $10 on Pro, which is off by default. The pricing page doesn't mention tax; the self-serve agreement says taxes are added on top.
Web hosting review
Netlify
Netlify is a platform for static sites and JavaScript frameworks, with serverless functions, billed in monthly credits. Its site clearly explains plan prices, what each credit buys, deploy history and rollbacks, and its public status page. Support response times, a company registration number, malware scanning and where site files are stored were harder to pin down from the website alone.

Price over time
No intro price, so nothing jumps at renewal
Netlify shows one monthly price per plan, with no intro discount and no renewal price. Pro has five credit tiers from $20 to $126 a month; the tier prices come from the billing docs. Monthly prices in US dollars, from netlify.com/pricing on 21 Oct 2026. The pricing page doesn't mention tax, and the agreement says taxes are extra.

What we found
Each finding links to the Netlify page it came from. Prices are the US-dollar prices on netlify.com; the pricing page doesn't mention tax, and the agreement says taxes come on top.
The terms of use and the self-serve agreement say you sign with Netlify, Inc., at 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, under California law. The data processing agreement gives a different address, 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco. The About page says Netlify was founded in the summer of 2014 and is based in San Francisco. The privacy policy names affiliates including Netlify EMEA Limited and Netlify UK Limited. We didn't see a company registration number on the pages we read.
A public status page tracks about 40 components, including third-party services such as GitHub and npm, with a 90-day uptime bar. It lists recent incidents with their status, such as Agent Runner failures on 20 Oct 2026 and elevated build errors on 17 Oct, both marked resolved. It links to incident history and uptime history pages, though their entries didn't load for us. The pricing page lists a 99.99% SLA for Enterprise only, and the self-serve agreement makes no uptime commitment.
Every plan can use the support forums at answers.netlify.com, an AI assistant called Ask Netlify, and a support request form answered by email. The plan docs list standard email support on Free and priority email support on Personal and Pro, and the pricing page lists 24/7 dedicated support with an SLA on Enterprise. The scope-of-support page says Enterprise customers can buy support with guaranteed response times, without stating them. We didn't see support hours or response times for Free, Personal and Pro, or phone or live chat with a person.
The self-serve agreement says all fees are non-cancelable and non-refundable, so we didn't see a money-back period. Plans renew automatically for the same period. You can end a paid plan any time in the admin panel, at least one day before the term ends to avoid the next charge, or by written notice ten days before. Moving to a higher Pro tier gives a prorated refund of the old plan, and downgrades take effect at the end of the billing cycle. The agreement lets Netlify change fees for renewals after giving notice, without a fixed notice period.
Each deploy is a full copy of the site, kept for 30 days on Free and 90 days on paid plans, and the live deploy is never deleted automatically. You can republish any kept deploy instantly, and rollbacks use no credits. You can download any successful deploy as a ZIP file. Netlify Database takes a backup daily and on each production publish, kept for 3 days on Free, 7 on Personal and 30 on Pro, and Team Owners can restore one themselves; we didn't see a restore fee. We didn't see backups for Netlify Blobs, or a way to download a database backup.
Every site gets free HTTPS through Let's Encrypt, renewed automatically, with a wildcard certificate when you use Netlify DNS. Two-factor login works with an authenticator app and recovery codes, and Pro teams can require it. The security page lists automatic DDoS mitigation, and the pricing page shows a limited web application firewall on self-serve plans. Smart secret detection runs on Personal and Pro deploys. We didn't see malware scanning on the pages we read.
Functions run in one region, which you can choose on Pro and Enterprise plans from 12 locations including Ireland, Frankfurt and London; the default is Ohio in the US. Netlify Blobs stores can be placed in Frankfurt or four other regions. The Trust Center lists AWS and Google Cloud as hosting providers in the US, and we didn't see where site files, builds or databases are stored. A data processing agreement covers the GDPR and is part of the subscription agreements. It relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, with EU standard contractual clauses as the fallback.
Plans are measured in monthly credits rather than fixed bandwidth or build minutes: 300 on Free, 1,000 on Personal and 3,000 to 20,000 on Pro. The docs give each rate, such as 10 credits per GB-hour of compute and 2 credits per 10,000 web requests. Functions get 1,024 MB of memory by default, up to 4,096 MB on Pro, with a 60-second limit, or 15 minutes for background functions. Edge functions get 50 ms of CPU time per request. "Unlimited" is used for deploy previews, Pro team members and form submissions; previews cost no credits, but their traffic is counted.
You can download any successful deploy as a ZIP file, and single Blobs from the Netlify UI. The agreement says your data stays available for retrieval for 30 days after termination. Domains bought through Netlify can move to another registrar 60 days after registration, but only by contacting support, and we didn't see a stated fee. Deleting a team or user takes sites offline and locks Netlify-bought domains, so a transfer then also needs support. We didn't see a way to export a whole Netlify Database.
What you get per plan
Credits and build limits come from the plan docs; function limits and database figures come from the developer docs. These are the Free and Personal plans and the smallest Pro tier. Bars compare each row against the largest plan.

|---|---|---|---|
| Credits per month | 300 | 1,000 | 3,000 |

Tech stack
Best for static sites and JavaScript frameworks
Hosts are built for different kinds of sites. Here is what Netlify says it runs, and on which plans. Tech fit is separate from the signal score.
Static sites
Best fitThe framework docs give build settings for static site generators such as Hugo, Jekyll, Eleventy, Astro, Gatsby and MkDocs. Every plan includes deploys from Git, the CLI or the API, free deploy previews, a global CDN and custom domains with free HTTPS.
Plans: All plans, from FreeNode.js & JavaScript frameworks
Best fitThe docs list Next.js, Nuxt, SvelteKit, Remix, React Router, TanStack Start and Angular, plus Express through Netlify Functions. Functions run TypeScript or JavaScript on Node.js, with Node.js 24 as the fallback version.
Plans: All plans, from FreeGo functions
SupportedFunctions can also be written in Go, through a Lambda-compatible API. The docs give fewer details for Go, and Netlify Blobs doesn't work with Go functions.
Plans: All plans, from FreePython
Not offeredPython appears only as a build step for MkDocs sites. The functions docs we read name TypeScript, JavaScript and Go, not Python.
Plans: Build step onlyWordPress, PHP & Docker
Not offeredWe didn't see WordPress hosting, a PHP runtime or Docker containers on the pages we read. The framework and functions docs don't mention them.
Plans: Not on the pages we readSales practices
Worth a closer look
We check five common sales practices and note them next to the score, without changing it. Two need a pass through checkout, which this scan didn't do. We'll add them on the next recheck.
- Noticed"Unlimited" without a stated limit. The credits docs call form submissions "free and unlimited" on credit-based plans, without a number. Deploy previews and Pro team members are also unlimited, while bandwidth, requests and compute are metered in credits.
- Not checked yetAdd-ons ticked for you at checkout. This scan didn't go through checkout. The docs say auto recharge for extra credits is off by default, and only Team Owners can turn it on.
- Not checked yetPrices that change at the payment step. The pricing page doesn't mention tax, and the agreement says taxes are added. We didn't check the final checkout total.
- Not noticedCountdown timers that reset. No timers or sale banners on the pages we read. The top banner points to Netlify's Discord server.
- Not noticedReviews with no source. We didn't see customer quotes on the pricing, plan comparison, About or security pages; the security page shows customer logos only. The homepage didn't load for us, so we couldn't check it.
Questions to ask Netlify
Each partly clear or unseen signal leaves a question that the website didn't answer for us. Netlify's support can probably answer them before you buy.
