Plan cards show an intro monthly price on a 3-year term, for example Starter Cloud at $2.91/mo, with $11.64 and "Save 75%" next to it. A footnote says the discount is only for the first invoice and the plan "renews at the regular rate". The help center says the renewal price is listed beside the intro price, but on the plan cards the $11.64 figure has no label or /mo. The terms say listed fees don't include taxes, which are added to the invoice; we didn't see a tax note on the plan cards. Starter and Plus can be bought for 1, 2 or 3 years, and Turbo and Business also monthly.
Web hosting review
NameHero
NameHero explains its refund and cancellation rules, backups, support channels and per-plan CPU, memory and inode limits clearly, and its help center walks through 2FA and moving a domain away. Harder to pin down were the renewal prices, because the figure next to each intro price has no label, along with past incidents on the status page, a company registration number and a data processing agreement. Some pages describe storage limits, backups and the company address differently.

Price over time
Web hosting renews at 3.3 to 4 times the intro price
This is common in hosting. The renewal prices here are the figures NameHero shows next to each intro price, which its help center says is the renewal price; the plan cards don't label them. Intro prices need a 3-year term, and the discount applies to the first invoice only. Monthly prices in US dollars, without tax, from namehero.com/web-hosting on 21 Oct 2026.
Assumes the $11.64 figure shown next to the intro price is the monthly regular rate, for another 3-year term. Actual renewal prices and terms may change.

What we found
Each finding links to the NameHero page it came from. Prices are the US-dollar prices on namehero.com, without tax, which the terms say is added to the invoice.
The terms and privacy policy name Name Hero, LLC, at 690 S Highway 89, Suite 200, Jackson, Wyoming. The About page gives a different mailing address in Jackson, 680 S Cache Street, Suite 100-12679. It says NameHero was founded in 2015 by Ryan Gray. The terms send disputes to arbitration in Lenexa, Kansas. We didn't see a company registration number on the pages we read.
The uptime page links to a "Real-Time Public Network Status Page" at uptime.namehero.com, but we couldn't load it, so we didn't see past incidents. The same page says incident updates appear on a network status page inside the customer area, which needs a login. The FAQ gives a 99.9% website uptime guarantee, "not network or server". The terms limit it to shared and reseller servers, make credits discretionary, exclude planned maintenance and don't accept third-party monitor reports.
Live chat and support tickets are available 24/7, and the support page says chat is staffed by people, not chatbots. Phone support at 1-855-984-6263 runs from 9 AM to 5 PM CST, although the About page also describes support as 24/7, 365. The support page says the aim is to have tickets in active review within 15 minutes. We didn't see response times for chat or phone, or which languages support uses.
Web hosting, reseller and VPS plans have a 30-day money-back guarantee, and game servers 72 hours. Refunds are for first-time accounts only, one per customer, and a setup fee is taken off: $8.95 for web and reseller hosting and $19.95 for VPS. Domains, licences, migrations and dedicated IPs aren't refunded, and after the guarantee period fees are non-refundable. You cancel with Request Cancellation in the client area, either right away or at the end of the billing period, and ask for a refund in a separate ticket. Services renew automatically on the card on file, and the terms promise 30 days' notice of price changes.
Web hosting and reseller cPanel accounts get free nightly and weekly offsite backups through JetBackup5, keeping one nightly and one weekly copy. You can restore files, databases and email accounts yourself, and download full backups, without opening a ticket. Longer 30-day retention is offered at an extra cost we didn't see stated. VPS plans aren't backed up unless you order backups. The terms, last updated in January 2021, describe nightly backups only and exclude accounts over 20 GB or 100,000 inodes, which reads differently from the help article.
AutoSSL certificates are free on web hosting, reseller and VPS plans, and are installed and renewed automatically while your nameservers point to NameHero. Two-factor login for the client portal works with an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, with a backup code shown at setup. The web hosting page describes real-time malware scanning with automatic removal. Turbo and Business also list a free Security Suite, which the page doesn't describe.
The About page names three data centres: Lenexa in Kansas, London and Toronto. The web hosting FAQ names Lansing, Michigan and Lenexa, Kansas, and the plan comparison table lists the US for every plan. Flags on the plan pages show the US, UK and Canada for web hosting, and the US, Germany, Canada, France and Poland for VPS, without saying which plan uses which or whether you choose. The privacy policy covers GDPR rights and uses EU standard contractual clauses for transfers. We didn't see a data processing agreement.
Each web hosting plan lists CPU cores, RAM and NVMe storage: Starter Cloud has 1 core, 1 GB RAM and 25 GB, and Business Cloud has 4 cores, 4 GB RAM and 100 GB. A help article adds inodes, I/O, IOPS and process limits per plan. Turbo and Business list unlimited websites, which the help article says are still capped by these limits. Bandwidth is unmetered with no number, and the terms say shared servers aren't limited in bandwidth. The FAQ and a 2025 help article call disk space unlimited, which reads differently from the GB figures on the plan cards.
In JetBackup you can download full account backups, including files, databases and email, from the daily or weekly copy, or make an on-demand backup. To move a domain away, you open Manage Domain in the dashboard, copy the EPP code and switch off Registrar Lock, which is on by default. We didn't see a fee or waiting period for moving a domain away. The cancellation article says all data and files are removed when the cancellation takes effect, so you need to download them first.
What you get per plan
Storage, CPU and memory come from the web hosting plan cards, and inodes from a NameHero help article updated in June 2025. Bars compare each row against the largest plan.

Tech stack
Best for WordPress and PHP sites
Hosts are built for different kinds of sites. Here is what NameHero says it runs, and on which plans. Tech fit is separate from the signal score.
WordPress
Best fitWordPress plans come with WordPress and LiteSpeed Cache installed, automatic updates, staging, free daily backups and a free WordPress migrator. They have the same specs and prices as the Cloud plans, and WP-CLI is included on all hosting services.
Plans: All WordPress plansPHP
Best fitWeb hosting runs on cPanel with LiteSpeed and MariaDB, and the CloudLinux PHP Selector lets you pick the PHP version and extensions. Servers default to the latest stable PHP; we didn't see a list of versions. Jailed SSH is available on all accounts after you ask in a support ticket.
Plans: All web hosting plansNode.js and Python
VPS plansWe didn't see Node.js or Python on the web hosting pages or in the help articles we read. All VPS plans include full root access, and unmanaged VPS runs Ubuntu, so you can install them yourself. Unmanaged VPS Starter has 1 vCPU, 4 GB RAM and 80 GB NVMe, from $12.64/mo.
Plans: Managed and unmanaged VPSDocker & containers
VPS plansDocker appears in the VPS 1-click apps list and in the AI agent hosting menu, which describes one container per app. The pages don't say which VPS plans include it.
Plans: VPS and AI agent hostingStatic sites
SupportedThe help center says Cloud plans run static HTML sites as well as CMS and shop software, managed through cPanel. We didn't see a separate static hosting product.
Plans: All Cloud plansSales practices
Worth a closer look
We check five common sales practices and note them next to the score, without changing it. Two need a pass through checkout, which this scan didn't do. We'll add them on the next recheck.
- Noticed"Unlimited" without a stated limit. Every web hosting plan lists unmetered bandwidth with no number, and the FAQ says disk space is unlimited while the plan cards list 25 to 100 GB. Unlimited websites on Turbo and Business are capped by the CPU, memory and inode limits in the help center.
- Not checked yetAdd-ons ticked for you at checkout. This scan didn't go through checkout. The first cart page we opened had no add-ons selected.
- Not checked yetPrices that change at the payment step. The terms say listed fees exclude taxes, which are added to the invoice. The first cart page shows "FREE! Setup Fee", while refunds have a setup fee taken off. We didn't check the final checkout total.
- Not noticedCountdown timers that reset. No timers on the pages we read. Plan cards carry "Save 70%" and "Save 75%" labels, without an end date.
- Not noticedReviews with no source. The homepage shows a 4.8 Trustpilot rating with a link to Trustpilot, and the reviews page links to Trustpilot, Shopper Approved and HostAdvice. The WordPress page also lists Sitejabber and HostAdvice ratings.
