Each shared plan card shows a renewal price under the intro price. Launch is $4.99/mo and renews at $13.99/mo, with tabs for 3-year, 2-year, 1-year and monthly terms. The cards don't name their term in the page text, so we matched them to the tabs by order: on the 1-year term Launch is $4.79/mo and renews at $14.99/mo, and monthly is $16.99/mo. We didn't see whether tax is included on the plan pages; the terms say taxes may be added as separate charges. The pricing page says promotional prices are for new customers only.
Web hosting review
InMotion Hosting
InMotion Hosting shows renewal prices on its shared plan cards, names its data centres and lets you pick one, and explains how to download a full backup and move a domain. Harder to pin down were support response times and phone hours, how long backups are kept and which plans include them at no cost, CPU and memory on the smaller shared plans, and past incidents on the status page. The homepage and the guarantee page also describe the 90-day refund differently.

Price over time
Shared hosting renews at 2.3 to 3 times the intro price
This is common in hosting, and InMotion shows both prices on its plan cards. These intro prices are for the 3-year term; we matched the cards to terms by their order on the page. Monthly prices in US dollars from inmotionhosting.com/shared-hosting on 20 Oct 2026. The page doesn't say whether tax is included.
Assumes the listed $13.99/mo renewal price for 36 months. On the 1-year term, Launch is $4.79/mo and renews at $14.99/mo. Actual renewal prices and terms may change.

What we found
Each finding links to the InMotion Hosting page it came from. Prices are the US-dollar prices on inmotionhosting.com; the plan pages don't say whether tax is included, and the terms say taxes may be added.
The terms, contact page and privacy policy name InMotion Hosting, Inc., at 2 Constitution Drive, Suite 101, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. The About page says the company was founded in 2001, is privately owned and founder-led, and names its founders, leadership team and board. The terms are governed by California law. We didn't see a company registration number on the pages we read.
A public status page tracks 15 parts of the service in three groups: support, servers and network, including each data centre. All were operational when we looked. Its past-incidents section read "No incidents reported" for the date ranges we checked, and we didn't see uptime percentages. The Web Hosting terms give the shared Launch, Power and Pro plans a 99.99% uptime guarantee with one month of credit, measured by InMotion's own server reports and approved at its discretion. Scheduled maintenance and DDoS attacks don't count as downtime.
Technical and billing help are by chat and ticket, which the contact page lists as 24/7, and the page says support is handled by staff, not bots. The shared Launch plan is chat and ticket only, while Power and Pro include phone support. The contact page also lists 9 am to 9 pm ET, Monday to Friday, for these teams, and the cancellation article gives those hours for billing phone support, so the phone hours for technical help weren't clear to us. Dedicated and Enterprise customers get 24/7 chat, ticket and phone. We didn't see stated response times.
The guarantee page gives shared and WordPress hosting 90 days for a refund, VPS, Reseller and UltraStack ONE 90 days on terms of 6 months or longer, and 30 days on monthly terms. Add-ons, domain fees and professional services aren't refunded, and the regular price of a free domain is taken off the refund. The homepage FAQ says refunds between days 31 and 90 are prorated, so we weren't sure whether a full refund applies for the whole 90 days. You turn off auto-renewal or cancel in the account panel, and plans renew for the same term at then-current rates. After the guarantee, the terms say refunds of prepaid full months are at InMotion's discretion, with a minimum $50 early cancellation fee.
Shared and Reseller plans include Backup Manager, a cPanel tool for automated remote backups that you can restore yourself, by file, folder or database. The add-on page lists daily backups from $2.50/mo for 10 GB of storage, and a help article describes a trial you cancel to avoid charges, so we weren't sure which plans include it at no cost. We didn't see how long backups are kept, or whether a restore by support costs extra. Managed VPS plans list daily automatic backups, and self-managed VPS doesn't include them. The terms say you are responsible for your own backups.
Every shared plan lists free SSL, Monarx malware protection, a web application firewall and DDoS protection. The account panel (AMP) supports two-factor login with Google Authenticator or a text message. The help article notes that SMS codes don't work with some US carriers, and suggests the app instead.
InMotion names three data centres: Los Angeles, Ashburn in Virginia, and Amsterdam, with Singapore marked as coming soon. The shared hosting page says you choose a data centre during setup. A Data Processing Addendum is part of the terms, with EU standard contractual clauses and a UK addendum, and takes effect without a separate signature. It says customer data may be stored and processed in the United States and other countries where InMotion or its sub-processors have facilities.
Shared plans list NVMe storage, websites, email storage and approximate monthly visitors. Launch has 100 GB and 2 websites, Power 200 GB and 10, and Pro 300 GB and 40. Only Pro lists CPU and memory: 2 vCPU and 4 GB RAM. Bandwidth is "unmetered", and databases and email addresses are "unlimited"; the Web Hosting terms say use must be reasonable as InMotion decides, without a number. VPS plans list vCPU, RAM, storage and bandwidth, from 4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM and 160 GB NVMe.
In cPanel you can generate and download a full account backup as a .tar.gz file, and database backups as .sql.gz files. To move a domain away, you ask support by chat or ticket for the EPP code and check its lock status, with the usual 60-day wait after registration or an ownership change. We didn't see a fee for moving a domain away. Content is deleted once a cancelled plan's term ends, so the help article asks you to download files, email and databases first.
What you get per plan
These numbers come from the shared hosting page. Only the Pro plan lists CPU and memory; VPS plans list them for every plan. Bars compare each row against the largest plan.

Tech stack
Best for WordPress and PHP sites
Hosts are built for different kinds of sites. Here is what InMotion Hosting says it runs, and on which plans. Tech fit is separate from the signal score.
WordPress
Best fitShared plans come with WP-CLI, SSH and free migration. The WordPress range runs from cPanel shared hosting for WordPress to VPS, UltraStack ONE and a Managed Hosting for WordPress plan with automatic core, plugin and theme updates. The WordPress page lists staging and Redis object caching, without saying which plans include them.
Plans: All shared plans, plus WordPress, VPS and managed optionsPHP
Best fitShared plans include a PHP version selector per domain, and you switch versions in cPanel's MultiPHP Manager. The shared page mentions PHP 8 support, and the help article doesn't list exact versions. SSH is included on shared, Reseller, VPS and Dedicated plans.
Plans: All plansNode.js
SupportedThe shared hosting page lists Node.js among the tools in all plans. A help article says cPanel's Setup Node.js App tool is only on NGINX shared servers, and we didn't see which plans run on those. VPS plans let you run the Node.js version you choose.
Plans: Shared (NGINX servers) and VPSPython
SupportedPython is listed among the tools in all shared plans, and a help article says Django can be installed on NGINX shared servers with cPanel's Setup Python App tool. InMotion will also install Django for you for a fee. We didn't see which Python versions are offered.
Plans: Shared (NGINX servers), VPS and DedicatedDocker & containers
VPS plansSelf-managed VPS plans come with root access, and a Docker-ready setup has Docker Engine and Compose preinstalled on plans without a control panel. The smallest plan has 4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 160 GB NVMe and 5 TB bandwidth. You handle the system, updates and backups yourself.
Plans: Self-managed VPSSales practices
Worth a closer look
We check five common sales practices and note them next to the score, without changing it. Two need a pass through checkout, which this scan didn't do. We'll add them on the next recheck.
- Noticed"Unlimited" without a stated limit. Shared plans list unlimited email addresses, databases and parked domains, and unmetered bandwidth. The Web Hosting terms say use must be reasonable as InMotion decides, but give no number. It may be published somewhere we didn't look.
- Not checked yetAdd-ons ticked for you at checkout. This scan didn't go through checkout. A help article describes a Backup Manager trial that you cancel before it ends to avoid ongoing charges.
- Not checked yetPrices that change at the payment step. The plan pages don't mention tax, and the terms say taxes may be added as separate charges. We didn't check the final checkout total.
- Not noticedCountdown timers that reset. No timers on the pages we read. A banner says "Founding spots available" for the agency partner program, and one dedicated plan is marked "On Sale - 15% Off".
- Not noticedReviews with no source. Press quotes name PCMag, TechRadar and HostAdvice, and the NPS comparison cites its source. Trustpilot is linked, and badges from CNET, BBB and G2 are shown by name.

This report covers what InMotion Hosting publishes, as read by an AI. It can miss things or misread a page. We didn't host a test site, so it says nothing about real speed or how helpful support feels.
