Business hosting plan cards show an "As low as" monthly price next to a crossed-out price and a "Save 80%" to "Save 83%" label. EBiz 17 Mini is RM9.99/mo next to a crossed-out RM49.99, and cPanel 17 AI Beginner is RM29.99/mo next to RM146.99. The page doesn't say what the crossed-out price is or which billing term the offer needs, and we didn't see a renewal price. The VPS page says promotion prices are for new registrations only and renewals revert to the default price, and the plan comparison pages don't list regular prices either. The plan pages don't say whether SST is included; the terms say the customer bears government taxes.

Exabytes
Exabytes names the company you sign with and its registration number, and its plan pages, terms, SLA and help articles explain the money-back guarantee, cancellation rules, support, backups, security tools and plan limits. Harder to pin down were the price you pay after the offer, past incidents on its status page, and a data processing agreement. We used the Malaysian site, exabytes.my, with prices in ringgit.

The crossed-out price is about 5 times the offer price
Plan cards show an "As low as" monthly price next to a crossed-out price with a "Save 80%" style label. The page doesn't call the crossed-out price the renewal price or say which billing term the offer needs; the VPS page says renewals revert to the default price. Monthly prices in Malaysian ringgit from exabytes.my/web-hosting/business-web-hosting on 21 Oct 2026. The plan pages don't say whether SST is included; the terms say customers bear government taxes.

What we found
Each finding links to the Exabytes page it came from. Prices are the Malaysian ringgit (RM) prices on exabytes.my; the plan pages don't say whether SST is included, and the terms say customers bear government taxes.
The terms, contact page and site footer name Exabytes Network Sdn. Bhd., registration number 200201008429 (576092-T), and the footer adds a Service Tax number and tax ID. The terms and contact page give the head office at 1-18-8 Suntech @ Penang Cybercity, Lintang Mayang Pasir 3, Bayan Baru, Penang; the postcode reads 11900 on the terms cover and 11950 elsewhere. The About page says Chan Kee Siak founded Exabytes in Penang in 2001 and is its CEO, with offices in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Indonesia. The terms are governed by Malaysian law.
The footer links "Network Uptime" to status.exabytes.my, and there is a separate status.exabytes.com page. Both load their content with JavaScript, so we couldn't read the current status or any past incidents. The global support portal's Announcements forum does post past disruptions, such as a network disruption on 17 Jan 2019 that was resolved within about 80 minutes. The SLA, updated 1 Jul 2026, promises 99.9% a month for Business Web Hosting from v16, VPS and dedicated servers, and 99.5% for WordPress, cPanel and Windows hosting. Each 1% below the target earns one day's fee as credit, capped at 50% of the monthly fee, if you email billing within three business days.
The contact page lists 24/7 technical support by live chat, WhatsApp chat (04-6097877) and email, plus support tickets. Sales and billing answer by phone (04-6097888), chat and email from 9:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, Malaysian time, and plan comparisons list phone support as 8 hours, 5 days. The SLA says response times range from minutes to hours depending on the service, with an average target of four hours. It doesn't set times per channel or priority, and the terms say support is given at Exabytes' discretion.
Shared, WordPress, cPanel, Windows and reseller hosting paid yearly or longer get a 100-day money-back guarantee, excluding setup and domain fees. EBiz 17 AI Mini, WP 17 AI Beginner and cPanel 17 AI Beginner are excluded, domains have a 3-day window refunded as credit, and the Why Exabytes page says VPS, cloud and dedicated aren't covered. You ask the billing team by email, and refunds take 14 days to a card or 30 days by bank transfer. The terms, last updated 1 Aug 2021, say services renew automatically for the same term at the then-current fee, and cancelling needs 30 days' written notice and costs MYR50 or one month's fee. Refundable prepaid fees are prorated on termination, while domain, setup, SSL and licence fees are not refunded.
The EBiz 17, WP 17 and cPanel 17 comparisons list weekly backups on the entry plans and daily backups kept 14 days on the others; we didn't see retention for the weekly plans. A help article says you ask for a restore by email from your account's main address, and the 2021 terms list a MYR200 restore fee, paid first, with restores taking up to 48 business hours. Plan terms call restores best effort, and the SLA says backups aren't guaranteed unless you buy a backup service. You can also make your own backups: cPanel lets you download and restore files and databases, and the Plesk Backup Manager makes a full copy you can download. VPS plans keep two weekly backup points plus a snapshot, and dedicated servers keep daily Acronis backups for 14 days.
All shared and WordPress plans include free SSL certificates. The billing account supports two-factor login with an authenticator app or an emailed code, with a backup code given at setup; the help article sits on the global support portal. cPanel 17 plans include Imunify360, Patchman, antivirus and anti-malware scans and a web application firewall. EBiz 17 plans list Website Security 360 with malware detection and removal. The About page says Exabytes is ISO/IEC 27001 certified by SIRIM QAS International and PCI DSS certified.
The data centre page names four sites: an Exabytes data centre in Malaysia, Racks Central 1 on Tai Seng Drive in Singapore, a US data centre near Denver, and NEX Data Center in South Jakarta. The About page places the Malaysian one at Cangkat Raja Chulan, the dedicated server page names Cyberjaya, and shared and WordPress plan pages say "Tier 3 Data Centre (Malaysia)". We didn't see whether you can choose a location. The privacy notice, updated 11 Aug 2025, mentions Malaysia's PDPA and names a Data Protection Officer in Penang. The GDPR FAQ only says the privacy policy was updated for GDPR, and we didn't see a data processing agreement or a list of sub-processors.
The EBiz 17, WP 17 and cPanel 17 comparison pages list CPU, memory, storage, inodes and process limits per plan. cPanel 17 AI Beginner has 1 CPU core, 1 GB RAM, 40 GB NVMe storage and 150,000 inodes, and EBiz 17 Mini has 1 core, 1 GB and 15 GB. Plus and higher plans list unlimited bandwidth, and Pro and Max list unlimited websites, email accounts and databases, without a stated limit. The terms say bandwidth is limited by port speed. NVMe VPS plans list vCPU, RAM, storage and transfer: C1 has 1 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 50 GB and 2 TB.
In cPanel you can generate a full backup, or download your home directory and each MySQL database as a .sql.gz file. To move a domain away, you open Manage Domain in the billing system and choose "Get EPP Code", and we didn't see a fee for this. The terms say content is erased at termination and no archive copy is kept, so you need to download it before the cancellation date. Cancelling needs 30 days' notice and a cancellation fee of MYR50 or one month's fee. For WordPress hosting, a help article from 2018 shows a Backup Manager that makes a full backup you can download.

Worth a closer look
We check five common sales practices and note them next to the score, without changing it. Two need a pass through checkout, which this scan didn't do. We'll add them on the next recheck.
- Noticed"Unlimited" without a stated limit. Business, cPanel and WP plans list unlimited bandwidth, and higher plans list unlimited websites, email accounts and databases, without a number. The cPanel comparison does set CPU, memory, inode and process limits, and the terms say bandwidth is limited by port speed.
- Not checked yetAdd-ons ticked for you at checkout. This scan didn't go through checkout.
- Not checked yetPrices that change at the payment step. The plan pages don't say whether SST is included, and the terms say customers bear government taxes. We didn't check the final checkout total.
- Not noticedCountdown timers that reset. No timers on the pages we read. Plan cards carry "Save 80%" style labels and crossed-out prices, without an end date. The domain transfer page names a promotion that ended on 28 Feb 2026.
- Not noticedReviews with no source. The plan pages we read show no review quotes or ratings, only links to separate Reviews and Testimonials pages, which we didn't read. Customer counts such as "160,000+ businesses" are given without a source.

This report covers what Exabytes publishes, as read by an AI. It can miss things or misread a page. We didn't host a test site, so it says nothing about real speed or how helpful support feels.
