Web hosting review

Dewaweb

Dewaweb lists CPU, memory and storage for each cloud hosting plan, and its SLA, help articles and backup guide explain the 90-day money-back guarantee, uptime credits, two-factor login and self-service backup restores. Harder to pin down were renewal prices, past incidents on the status page, support response times and a data processing agreement. The site is in Indonesian, and its English switch still showed Indonesian text, so we translated the pages.

Price over time

Larger plans show 25% off a crossed-out price

Plan cards show a monthly price with a yearly total. Scout and Hunter are labelled "normal price", and Warrior and up show 25% off a crossed-out price, which a banner ties to yearly packages. We didn't see a renewal price, so the crossed-out price is shown here in its place. Monthly prices in Indonesian rupiah from dewaweb.com/hosting on 21 Oct 2026. The plan pages don't say whether tax is included; the terms say 11% PPN applies to all services.

What we found

Each finding links to the Dewaweb page it came from, translated from Indonesian. Prices are the Indonesian rupiah (Rp) prices on dewaweb.com; the plan pages don't say whether tax is included, and the terms say 11% PPN applies to all services.

An AI read Dewaweb's public pages to write these findings. When something is partly clear or not seen, it may be explained on a page we didn't read, or our scan may have missed it.
Price

Honest pricing

Partly clear · 5 pts

Cloud hosting plan cards show a monthly price with a yearly total. Scout (Rp35,000/mo, Rp420,000 a year) and Hunter (Rp70,000/mo) are labelled "Harga Normal" (normal price). Warrior and higher plans show 25% off next to a crossed-out price, such as Warrior at Rp105,000/mo next to Rp140,000, and a side banner ties the discount to yearly packages. We didn't see a renewal price or whether the discount covers only the first year. The plan pages don't say whether tax is included; the terms say 11% PPN applies to all services.

People

Who runs it

Partly clear · 5 pts

The terms and site footer name PT Dewaweb, with an office at AKR Tower, 16th Floor, Jl. Panjang No. 5, Jakarta 11530, and a second office in Sinarmas Land Plaza, Surabaya. Section 7 of the terms gives PT Dewaweb's tax number (NPWP) 31.783.862.1-086.000. The About page says Dewaweb started in 2014, names Edy Budiman as CEO, and lists ISO/IEC 27001 certification with BSI and registration as an electronic system operator with Kominfo. We didn't see a company registration number (such as an NIB) or a governing-law clause on the pages we read.

Problems

Uptime in public

Partly clear · 5 pts

The footer links "Network Status" to dewaweb.com/serverstatus.php, but for our reader that page showed only a login form, with no server statuses or past incidents. The SLA promises 100% uptime for Personal and Corporate Cloud Hosting and Cloud Servers, measured by a third-party monitor every 5 minutes from several locations. Each full hour of downtime earns a credit of 5% of the monthly fee, up to 100%, if you email a claim within 7 days. Scheduled and emergency maintenance, DDoS attacks and problems caused by your own scripts are excluded.

People

Reachable support

Partly clear · 5 pts

The homepage offers "Ninja Support 24/7" by live chat and phone, and the footer lists support tickets, an email ticket form, a Jakarta phone number (+62 21 2212 4702) and mobile numbers for Jakarta and Surabaya. The homepage FAQ says replies come from the support team, not a chatbot. The About page also describes 24/7 support. We didn't see response times on the homepage, terms or SLA.

Fair terms

Partly clear · 5 pts

The SLA gives a 90-day money-back guarantee on Personal and Corporate Cloud Hosting if you open a ticket within 90 days of your first order; Cloud Servers are excluded, and SSL certificates have their own 30-day window. The refund leaves out PPN already paid, the domain fee if the domain was free, and transfer fees, and is paid by bank transfer to an Indonesian bank. The terms say you cancel by emailing billing, with no notice or fee, and fees already paid are not refunded; a help article updated in Jan 2025 says you request cancellation in the client area and the hosting is removed within one working day. We didn't see auto-renewal rules. Unpaid hosting is suspended 4 days after the due date, and files are deleted after 30 days.

Data

Backups you can use

Clear · 10 pts

All cloud hosting plans list "Automatic Cloud Backup (Daily & Weekly)", though the hosting FAQ also says daily and monthly. Dewaweb's JetBackup guide says JetBackup is free in cPanel, with full backups stored on a remote server and 3 daily, 2 weekly and 2 monthly points kept, plus up to 2 snapshots kept for 2 days. You can restore a full account, single files, databases, email and DNS yourself, and download files and backups. We didn't see a restore fee. Older help articles say a full cPanel backup or a database restore needs a support request, and the terms call restores best effort.

Data

Security basics

Clear · 10 pts

Every cloud hosting plan includes free SSL, which the page says scores A+, and premium anti-DDoS. Two-factor login for the client area works with Google Authenticator, with single-use backup codes. The hosting page lists Imunify360 as a web application firewall against SQL injection, XSS and brute-force attacks, and a help article describes CageFS and mod_security to keep accounts apart. Malware cleanup is a separate paid Dewaguard service, from Rp1,500,000 per site excluding tax.

Data

Data location

Partly clear · 5 pts

The homepage FAQ names three data centre locations you can choose from: Jakarta, Singapore and San Jose in the United States. The hosting and Cloud VPS pages repeat Jakarta, Singapore and the US, without naming the facilities. A help article explains that Singapore servers can show a US location in IP lookups because the IP block is registered with ARIN. The privacy section of the terms follows Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP), and we didn't see a data processing agreement, a sub-processor list or a mention of GDPR.

Real specs

Each cloud hosting plan lists NVMe storage, CPU cores, memory and disk I/O. Scout has 0.5 core, 512 MB memory, 3 GB storage and 2 MB/s I/O, and Oracle has 12 cores, 12 GB and 225 GB. The FAQ lists email sending limits from 100 to 2,000 an hour. All plans list unlimited databases, email accounts, bandwidth and inodes, and the FAQ says disk and inodes have no limit as long as you stay within your quota, without a number. The Cloud VPS page shows Shared CPU and Dedicated CPU plans with unlimited bandwidth, but we didn't see vCPU, RAM or storage per plan.

A help article shows how to make a full backup with cPanel's Backup Wizard and download it, and the JetBackup guide lets you download files and backups. The terms say domains are transferred through the client area with the EPP code, and a help article lists the steps: unlock the domain, get the EPP code, approve by email, and wait 60 days after registering or a previous transfer. We didn't see where to find the EPP code in the client area, or any fee for moving a domain away. The cancellation article says hosting is removed within one working day of a request, so you need to download your data first.

What you get per plan

These numbers come from the cloud hosting plan cards. Larger plans go up to Oracle, with 12 cores, 12 GB memory and 225 GB. Several items are listed as unlimited without a number. Bars compare each row against the largest plan shown.

Tech stack

Best for WordPress and PHP sites

Hosts are built for different kinds of sites. Here is what Dewaweb says it runs, and on which plans. Tech fit is separate from the signal score.

Best fit: tools built for it on regular plansSupported: runs on some plans, with limitsVPS plans: you set it up yourself on a server

WordPress

Best fit

Cloud hosting runs LiteSpeed Enterprise with caching, and plans include premium add-ons such as Elementor, Divi, WP Rocket, UpdraftPlus and RankMath. Plan descriptions mention online shops on WooCommerce. We didn't see a separate WordPress hosting product, or a WordPress installer or staging on the hosting page.

Plans: All cloud hosting plans

PHP

Best fit

Hosting runs on cPanel, where you choose your PHP version and modules under "Select PHP Version"; a 2020 help article says all PHP versions are supported, without listing them. All cloud hosting packages include SSH, and cPanel's Git Version Control can clone from GitHub.

Plans: All cloud hosting plans

Node.js

Supported

A Dewaweb blog article says cloud hosting runs Node.js apps through cPanel's "Setup Node.js App", with versions from v14 to v24, and recommends Warrior or higher. The hosting page itself doesn't mention Node.js.

Plans: Cloud hosting, Warrior and up recommended

Python

Supported

An undated blog tutorial sets up a Flask app with "Setup Python App" in Dewaweb's cPanel, using Python 3.5. We didn't see a list of Python versions or which plans include it.

Plans: cPanel hosting, plans not named

Docker & containers

VPS plans

Cloud VPS plans are self-managed by default, with one-click Linux or Windows installs, a dashboard and a remote console. The page doesn't mention Docker. The Shared CPU plan is Rp90,000/mo next to a crossed-out Rp130,000, or Rp125 an hour.

Plans: Cloud VPS

Sales practices

Worth a closer look

We check five common sales practices and note them next to the score, without changing it. Two need a pass through checkout, which this scan didn't do. We'll add them on the next recheck.

  • Noticed
"Unlimited" without a stated limit. All cloud hosting plans list unlimited databases, email accounts, bandwidth and inodes, and larger plans list unlimited addon domains and disk I/O, without a number. The plan cards do set CPU, memory, storage and email sending limits.
  • Not checked yet
Add-ons ticked for you at checkout. This scan didn't go through checkout.
  • Not checked yet
Prices that change at the payment step. The plan pages don't say whether tax is included, and the terms say 11% PPN applies to all services. We didn't check the final checkout total.
  • Not noticed
Countdown timers that reset. No timers on the pages we read. Plan cards carry "Diskon 25%" labels and the promo code WEBSITEAMAN, without an end date. The Cloud VPS page shows a "Diskon 50%" label, while its own prices work out to smaller discounts.
  • Not noticed
Reviews with no source. Testimonials on the homepage and hosting page carry a full name and company or website, without a link to where they were posted. The "90,000+ customers" figure is given without a source.
