Web hosting review

Convesio

Convesio is a managed WordPress and WooCommerce host that runs sites in auto-scaling containers. Its site clearly shows flat monthly prices, CPU, memory, storage and bandwidth per plan, its four data-centre cities and its no-refund rule. A public status page, support response times, backup retention, two-factor login for the dashboard and the hourly price of extra containers were harder to pin down from the website alone.

No intro price, so nothing jumps at renewal

Convesio shows one monthly price per plan, with no intro discount and no setup fee. Extra containers during traffic surges are billed at an hourly rate that we didn't see listed. Monthly prices in US dollars, without tax, from convesio.com/monthly-pricing on 21 Oct 2026.

What we found

Each finding links to the Convesio page it came from. Prices are the US-dollar monthly prices on convesio.com, without tax, which the terms say is added on top.

An AI read Convesio's public pages to write these findings. When something is partly clear or not seen, it may be explained on a page we didn't read, or our scan may have missed it.
Price

Honest pricing

Partly clear · 5 pts

Convesio shows one monthly price per plan, with no intro discount and no separate renewal price. Express is $50/mo, Express Level 2 $100/mo, Express Level 4 $250/mo and Ultra $600/mo, with no setup fee. The FAQ says pricing is usage based, and that during traffic surges you are billed for extra containers at an hourly rate, but we didn't see that rate on the pages we read. The terms say you are billed each month and that fees exclude tax, which is added on top.

People

Who runs it

Partly clear · 5 pts

The terms say you sign with Convesio, Inc., under Florida law, at 5660 Strand Ct #108, Naples, FL 34110, United States. The About page says the company was incorporated on 12 February 2018 and names three founders. The privacy policy names Convesio, Inc. as the company behind the website. The footer also links to Convesio Netherlands at convesio.nl, without saying which company runs it. We didn't see a company registration number on the pages we read.

Problems

Uptime in public

Partly clear · 5 pts

The SLA promises 99.99% availability, not counting scheduled and emergency maintenance. Business and Enterprise plan customers can claim a credit of 5% of the monthly fee per full hour of extra downtime, up to 100%, by writing to support within 30 days. The pricing page also mentions a 99.999% uptime guarantee in one section and 99.99% in another. The footer's "Support Stats" link opened a page with no figures for us, and we didn't see a public status page with past incidents on the pages we read.

People

Reachable support

Partly clear · 5 pts

The support article says Slack is the fastest way to reach the team, from the support button in the dashboard, and some clients get a dedicated Slack channel. You can also use the website chat or email support@convesio.com, and the footer lists a call and text number, (844) 966-2995. Ultra plans list 24/7 priority Slack support, and Express plans list real-time chat support. We didn't see stated response times on the pages we read.

Price

Fair terms

Partly clear · 5 pts

The terms say all purchases are non-refundable except as required by law, and we didn't see a money-back guarantee. Hosting renews automatically each month, and you can cancel at any time in your account portal, effective at the end of the paid term. Ultra plans come with a 7-day free trial, while the SSH feature page mentions a "30-day risk-free trial" without explaining it. The terms say price changes take effect immediately, or at renewal for fixed-term services.

Data

Backups you can use

Partly clear · 5 pts

The plan comparison lists hourly database backups on Express and Ultra plans, and a help article says turning on auto backups sets up a daily and a monthly backup policy. You can take manual snapshots and restore or download them yourself under Backups in the dashboard. Ultra includes 80 GB of off-site backup storage, and extra off-site backup costs $10 per 10 GB. We didn't see how long backups are kept, and the terms and recovery policy ask you to keep your own backups too.

Data

Security basics

Partly clear · 5 pts

Convesio gives free Let's Encrypt SSL certificates that you add in the site's Security tab and that renew automatically. The security page lists real-time malware scanning by Monarx, firewall rules and DDoS protection through Cloudflare, and the WooCommerce page says hacks are fixed at no charge. The security page offers two-factor authentication for clients with enhanced security needs, but we didn't see whether it covers the Convesio dashboard login.

Data

Data location

Partly clear · 5 pts

The infrastructure page names four data-centre locations: Amsterdam and Zurich in Europe, and Los Angeles and Ashburn, Virginia in the US, run with OpenMetal and Google Cloud. We didn't see whether you can choose a location for your site. The privacy policy says a data processing agreement covers hosted customer data, and the legal page says DPAs are available on request. We didn't see the GDPR named on the pages we read.

Real specs

Partly clear · 5 pts

Each plan lists dedicated CPUs, RAM, storage and bandwidth as numbers. Express has 2 dedicated CPUs, 1+ GB RAM, 25 GB storage and 100 GB bandwidth, and Ultra has 12 CPUs, 6+ GB RAM and 500 GB bandwidth. Extra storage costs $20 per 10 GB and extra bandwidth $20 per 100 GB. Every plan lists "Unlimited Visitors" without a stated limit, and the Agency section lists unlimited bandwidth next to 100 GB per site.

Easy exit

Partly clear · 5 pts

You can download a snapshot of your site from Backups in the dashboard, and open the database in phpMyAdmin with the login shown under Database Settings. The snapshot article doesn't say whether a snapshot includes files, the database or both. The terms say Convesio will make reasonable efforts to give access to self-service export tools for a limited period after termination, without stating how long. We didn't see an exit fee, and we didn't see domain registration, so there may be no domain to transfer out.

Tech stack

Best for WordPress and WooCommerce sites

Hosts are built for different kinds of sites. Here is what Convesio says it runs, and on which plans. Tech fit is separate from the signal score.

Best fit: tools built for it on regular plansSupported: runs on some plans, with limitsVPS plans: you set it up yourself on a serverNot offered: look at another host

WordPress & WooCommerce

Best fit

Every hosting plan is built for WordPress, running in Docker containers with a custom load balancer instead of cPanel. Plans include auto-scaling, a free staging site per live site, a CDN and free migrations. The SSH page says you can reach your site over SSH, and the help articles describe phpMyAdmin access.

Plans: All plans, from Express

PHP & Laravel

Supported

You pick the PHP version for a site in the dashboard settings. A software-versions article last updated in 2022 lists PHP 7.3 and 7.4, so current versions weren't clear to us. Laravel hosting runs on the same container platform but is labelled a beta feature.

Plans: Laravel in beta; prices not listed

Docker containers

Not offered

Convesio runs WordPress in Docker containers that it manages for you. We didn't see an option to run your own containers on the pages we read.

Sales practices

Worth a closer look

We check five common sales practices and note them next to the score, without changing it. Two need a pass through checkout, which this scan didn't do. We'll add them on the next recheck.

  • Noticed
"Unlimited" without a stated limit. Every plan lists "Unlimited Visitors" without a stated limit. The Agency section lists unlimited bandwidth, while its plan cards list 100 GB per site.
  • Not checked yet
Add-ons ticked for you at checkout. This scan didn't go through checkout. The pricing page lists add-ons such as extra storage, off-site backups and managed updates separately, most with their own price.
  • Not checked yet
Prices that change at the payment step. The terms say tax is added on top of listed prices, and extra containers in traffic surges are billed hourly. We didn't check the final checkout total.
  • Not noticed
Countdown timers that reset. No timers on the pages we read. Ultra plans carry a "Get 7 days free" offer.
  • Not noticed
Reviews with no source. Testimonials on the homepage and pricing page carry a full name and company. The pricing page shows a "96% Client Happiness" badge with a G2 logo, without a link to where the figure comes from.
