BuyVM shows one price per plan, with no intro discount and no separate renewal price. The KVM slice page lists SLICE 1024 at $3.50/month, SLICE 2048 at $7.00 and SLICE 4096 at $15.00, and SLICE 512 at $24.00 per year. The my.frantech.ca store, where you order, lists the Las Vegas plans at different prices in US dollars: 512MB at $3.00/mo, 1GB at $5.00/mo and 2GB at $10.00/mo, monthly only. The FAQ says services are prorated to the first of the month. We didn't see whether tax is included, or which of the two price lists applies.
Web hosting review
BuyVM
BuyVM, run by Frantech and now part of Cloudzy, sells unmanaged KVM VPS, storage VPS and add-on block storage slabs. Its site clearly explains paid nightly backups with 7 days kept, a 3-day refund window, cancellation timing, and numbered CPU, memory and SSD per plan. A few things were harder to pin down from the website alone: which company you sign with, why the store shows higher prices than the plan pages, a public status page, two-factor login, a GDPR data processing agreement, and bandwidth limits behind "unmetered".

Price over time
No intro price, but the store lists higher prices than the plan page
BuyVM shows one price per plan, with no intro discount and no separate renewal price. Plans are billed monthly with no minimum term, prorated to the first of the month. The chart shows the buyvm.net plan page next to the my.frantech.ca store for the same memory sizes, because the two list different prices. Monthly prices with a "$" sign on buyvm.net and in US dollars in the store, on 21 Oct 2026; we didn't see whether tax is included.

What we found
Each finding links to the BuyVM page it came from. Prices are as shown on buyvm.net with a "$" sign and in US dollars in the my.frantech.ca store; we didn't see whether tax is included.
The terms name Frantech as the service provider, and say BuyVM was acquired by Cloudzy AI on 6 Jan 2025, with both run by the same CEO, Hanan Nozari. The contact page names Cloudzy AI Information Technology L.L.C, with an office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and says BuyVM is jointly managed by Cloudzy and Frantech Solutions. The About page says Frantech Solutions has sold virtual servers since 2010 and names its founder, Francisco. We didn't see a company registration number, an address for Frantech, or a governing-law clause on the pages we read.
The wiki FAQ promises that network, power and services will be available at least 99.9% of each month. Maintenance announced 24 hours ahead, upgrades, suspensions and problems you cause are excluded, and credits are requested within a week of an outage. Each location has a looking glass page for testing ping and speed. We didn't see a public status page or incident history on the pages we read.
Support runs through tickets in the my.frantech.ca billing portal, and the wiki says that is the only support channel; billing and pre-sales questions can also go to billing@frantech.ca. The terms say support is provided 24 hours on weekdays, and that weekend tickets are typically addressed within two hours. Billing hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM GMT-7 on weekdays. The pages don't agree on hours: the FAQ gives business hours of 0700h to 1900h PST, Monday to Friday, and the Why BuyVM page says support is staffed 24 hours a day. We didn't see a response time for weekday tickets, and services are described as completely unmanaged.
The terms allow a refund within 3 days of the first order payment for PayPal and card payments, through a billing ticket. Cryptocurrency and Alipay payments can't be refunded, and account credit can't be cashed out. Cancellations run automatically at 1:00 AM GMT-7, either the next morning or on the next due date, and the unused part of the billing cycle goes to account credit. Invoices for recurring services are issued 10 days before the due date, and unpaid services are suspended after 4 days and terminated after 6. We didn't see how you submit a cancellation, or how price changes are announced.
Backups are a paid add-on for KVM slices, priced at 10% of the plan's base price, or $0.50/month on the 512MB and 1GB plans. The plan page says backups are taken every night and 7 days are kept, and the Stallion guide says they run at midnight GMT-7. You restore a backup yourself from the Backups & Snapshots tab in Stallion, and every plan includes 5 free snapshots per location. We didn't see a way to download a backup or snapshot, and the terms say you are responsible for your own backups.
DDoS-protected IP addresses cost $3.00/month per IP, drawing on a shared filtering pool in each location. The Stallion guide shows firewall rules for protected IPs, which can take up to 5 minutes to apply. We didn't see free SSL certificates, two-factor login for the account or the Stallion panel, or malware scanning on the pages we read.
The data centres page describes three locations: Las Vegas, Piscataway in New Jersey for New York, and Roost in Luxembourg, and the features page says you choose one when you configure your VPS. The wiki FAQ and network page add Miami. The store lists Las Vegas, New York, Miami and Switzerland, a location we didn't see on the data centre pages. The privacy policy doesn't mention the GDPR, and we didn't see a data processing agreement.
Each KVM slice lists cores, memory and SSD storage as numbers: SLICE 1024 has 1 core at 3.50+ GHz with a fair share of about 25%, 1024 MB of memory and 20 GB SSD. SLICE 4096 gets a dedicated core, and the wiki names the node hardware as Ryzen 9 3900X CPUs with NVMe storage. Bandwidth is listed as "Unmetered" on slices and "Unlimited" on storage VPS and larger plans, and we didn't see a stated limit. The store lists slightly different specs, such as 1 core at 3.9GHz+ and NVMe storage.
Every slice is an unmanaged server with full access, so you can copy your data off yourself. We didn't see a way to download backups, snapshots or a disk image. The terms say data and backups are destroyed once a cancellation or termination is processed, and this can't be reversed, so data has to be copied first. We didn't see a fee for leaving, and the store doesn't sell domains, so there is no domain to transfer out.
What you get per plan
These numbers come from the KVM slice plan page. The store lists slightly different specs for the same memory sizes. Bars compare each row against the largest plan.

Tech stack
Best for servers you run yourself
Hosts are built for different kinds of sites. Here is what BuyVM says it runs, and on which plans. Tech fit is separate from the signal score.
WordPress & PHP
VPS plansEvery KVM slice comes with a free DirectAdmin licence, which the features page recommends using with at least 1GB of RAM, and Softaculous licences are listed too. The operating system templates include blogging platforms. You run and update the server yourself, and we didn't see PHP versions named.
Plans: KVM slices, from $3.50/moDocker & containers
VPS plansThe FAQ says Docker works on all KVM slices. You install and manage it yourself, since services are completely unmanaged.
Plans: All KVM slicesWindows & custom systems
VPS plansYou can install from more than 100 templates, including Debian, Ubuntu, the Red Hat family, BSD and TurnKey Linux, or upload your own ISO in Stallion. Windows needs a 1GB slice or larger, and the FAQ says a Windows Server 2012 R2 licence is included.
Plans: KVM slices, Windows from 1GBLarge file storage
VPS plansBlock Storage Slabs add HDD storage to a slice in the same location, sold in 256GB steps at $1.25/month, up to 10TB per slab and 8 slabs per slice. Storage VPS plans start at 250 GB for $7.00/month. Both pages showed an out-of-stock notice that points to Cloudzy.

Worth a closer look
We check five common sales practices and note them next to the score, without changing it. Two need a pass through checkout, which this scan didn't do. We'll add them on the next recheck.
- Noticed"Unlimited" without a stated limit. KVM slices list "Unmetered" bandwidth, and storage VPS and larger plans list "Unlimited", with no number given. We couldn't read the acceptable use policy, which may set limits.
- Not checked yetAdd-ons ticked for you at checkout. This scan didn't go through checkout.
- Not checked yetPrices that change at the payment step. We didn't reach the payment step. The store already lists higher prices than the plan page, such as $5.00 instead of $3.50 a month for 1GB, and we didn't see whether tax is added.
- Not noticedCountdown timers that reset. No timers on the pages we read. Several product pages show an out-of-stock notice that points to Cloudzy, and the FAQ says stock is restocked daily.
- Not noticedReviews with no source. The homepage links to BuyVM's Trustpilot page instead of quoting reviews. The DDoS page describes an unnamed Minecraft community customer as an example.
Questions to ask BuyVM
